Sanity Falls Launch Tomorrow at 12pm SLT

Sanity Falls Prizes - Liliths Den

Today we talk to Runa (Alrunia Ahn), owner of Liliths Den:

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. What is your prize for the hunters?

Runa: As usual for Mad Pea Hunts I -try to- create something in theme of the Hunt Game.
I made one of my very special and playful Music Boxes and let the missed person in the game, the woman and what -might- have happened to her, inspire me.
The Box therefor turned out to be melancholic and sad, and ..yes, creepy ... a relic of twilight, filled with possible memories and meaning.

The box shape reminds a bit of a TV Box... and its in the typical vintage battered "stylish kitsch"  design of Lilith's Den. What else to say.. click it, enjoy the melody and the visible details inside.
This time, the first time, some of the items inside are animated.

Is it necessary to say? All textures are custom made by me.

MadPea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

Runa: A wall Clock. Simple as that... but of course not "just" a simple clock. It is ticking. But of course, other clocks do that as well... but if you touch it, it plays the same eerie melody as the music box :)
Well, and it comes with skulls, and the headless dancing ghost woman.

Oy and almost forgot to mention. The clock shows the current SL time, so, it works even.

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

Sanity Falls Prizes - *Just BECAUSE*

Today we talk to Annie Melson, owner of *Just Because*:

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Annie Melson: Thank you so much for the opportunity for me to share my work with Madpea hunters! :) My name is Annie Melson and I'm a clothing designer in SL. My store is *Just BECAUSE* and I strive to create the most realistic clothing for people to wear in their Second Lives. I enjoy creating casual attire along with some formal wear for both men and women.

My work and clothes are hand painted, right down to the stitches shown. I do not use premade templates of any kind. *Just BECAUSE* clothing is original clothing. I always start with a grayish color, shape it, and then start painting in all the details. Here is an RL picture of me working on creating clothing:

I'm an artist in RL and I really enjoy using my talents to bring people in SL the best most realistic clothing they can wear. I take pride in my work and I sincerely hope everyone enjoys wearing the clothing I create! :)

MadPea: And what is your prize for the hunters?

Annie Melson: I created a a beautifully organic colored and textured shirt for both men and women that looks so comfortable you'll wish you could really wear it in RL! It is a cream colored shirt with dark olive green stripes across the chest with pushed up custom made sculpted sleeves.

MadPea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

Annie Melson: The second prize awaiting the hunters is a full outfit from the *Just BECAUSE* store! Black jeans, two toned shirt, and black leather jacket! One for women and one for men. TIP - the cream colored shirt from the store gift goes wonderfully with the black leather jacket from the 2nd prize! Combine them for another awesome look! :)

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

Sanity Falls Prizes - dirty. little. secret

Today we talk to Tash Porthos, owner of dirty.little.secret

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Tash Porthos: [dirty.little.secret] came about as a natural progression from building things for friends and myself into building things for the SL community as a whole. I realized that I found a great deal of joy in puzzling through the process of reverse engineering to create things like furniture, swings, piercings, dwellings, makeup, clothing and shapes. My focus varies from week to week, but I throw myself into whatever I'm making, and get a great deal of satisfaction from watching others enjoy my creations.

MadPea: And what is your prize for the hunters?

1. Room

2. Room

3. Room

4. Room

Tash Porthos: My prize for Sanity Falls is a skybox build called "The Fourth Floor", and is intended to visually guide people through a mini-scenario/mystery of what's going on in one of the houses in Sanity Falls. It is an ambitious build and intended to create an immersive and interactive experience for those who want to really get into the creepy feel of a mystery.
I'm including the notecard for further details.

Madpea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

Good Girl

Good Boy

Tash Porthos: The end-game prize I made is an extension of The Fourth Floor story. It is a set of skin carvings, but the interesting part about them is that they are designed to look at from a first person perspective. Which is to say, they look as  if they have been carved by the avatar into the lower belly, and looking straight on at the avatar, the letters appear upside down. This is intentional, to add to the feeling of maddness. Because, really, would a sane person carve words into their own stomach?  :)

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

Sanitiy Falls Prizes - Harter Fall's Gallery

Today we talk to Harter Fall, owner of Harter Fall's Gallery, artist and builder. Harter is part of the Sanity Falls builder team.

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Harter Fall: I am a graphic designer and artist from Germany, I found in SL and with SL's possibilities to build and script, the ideal environment to search and create all kinds of optical distortions and illusions. Others of my works were described as kinetic sculptures and kinetic abstracts. My latest works are described as figurative and surrealistic.
To create art is rewarding, relaxing and a state of meditation to me. Perpetual learning, enhancing and inventing of new techniques is essential for me to realize my ideas.
My favorite part in being an artist is the feed back I receive when I talk with people that view my works and when I can experience first hand the reactions my art creates.

MadPea: And what are your prizes for the hunters?

The 1st Gift

Harter Fall: Both prizes are variations of two of my pieces with optical illusions. These modifications I made exclusively for the Sanity Falls Hunt.

The 2nd Gift at the End

Sanity Falls Prizes - BoHo HoBo

Today we talk to Trill Zapatero, artist and owner of BoHo HoBo:

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Trill Zapatero: I make clothes, all proceeds go to RAWA , the revolutionary association of the women of afghanistan. to fund orphanges, schools, hosptials and clinics for refugees of the Afghan war.

MadPea: Your clothes are really awesome. Beautiful, colorful and with wonderful realistic textures. Worth every single Linden!
And what is your prize for the hunters?

Trill Zapatero: Thick leather riding jackets for Him and Her. Waist belt with sculpt buckle, studded collar, zip up wrists. Plus a checkered Afghan shemagh (Afghan turban scarf worn), Sort of a biker hipster look.

MadPea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

Trill Zapatero: At the end, the prize will be a lamp I've made out of a variety of unexpected things. See above my issu book of lamps and here is my artist statement about them:

"My design challenge is to  design in a way that has a more poetic, spiritual and ethical foundation. I want to create something meaningful that communicates a message.  I believe designers have the ability to affect the future of our culture and our environment perhaps even more than politicians.

I want to express a poetic kind of sustainability that can be defined as meeting our needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

By upcycling thrown out things, broken pieces, rusty things, lost things, old things, useless things plain things, and recombining them in many possible ways, the end result is more than the sum of it’s individual parts; a sort of alchemical transmutation of the base to the precious.

The lamps even have a political message. I’m challenging myself bring seemingly incredibly disparate elements into a synergistic relationship with each other.

The title of the exposition is ‘fuse’ both because lamps need fuses to give light, as well as Fuse in the root word of fusion, a bringing together of functionality with art as well as the material with the spiritual.

The nature of these sculptures as ‘lamps’ is that light it is one of the most fundamental things we need to survive on Earth; ‘light’ in both the material sense and the spiritual sense. Light is so beautiful because it exists on the cusp of the spiritual and the material. The lamps are about resurrecting the useless and the broken to a new life in the light."

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

Sanity Falls Trailer

Yay, the Sanity Falls Trailer is finished. After watching it you can't wait for April 1st to start hunting!

Sanity Falls Prizes - Peachy Keen

And today we talk also to Eolene Uralia, Co-Owner of Peachy Keen. Eolene is is a great builder and and part of the Sanity Falls builders team.

MadPea: Eolene, thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Eolene Uralia: hmmm, this is a hard question.  I hate to type about myself.  I am the original cube creator. Yes, all steal my builds.  I am a legend in SL, a legend in my own mind.  FAMOUS I tell you...  FAMOUS!!!  I see my cubes in SL everywhere...  most of them are stolen from me!
Have a store that I share with Blueboy Huckleberry that is mostly toys that people can play in SL.   We also created a lot of toyland in thumper sim with the help of some great friends and creators in SL.

MadPea: And what is your prize for the hunters?

Eolene Uralia: Well, I got to thinking about couches and chairs in SL and  why people sit on a couch and pose with friends...  so I was thinking it needed to be a little more interesting and created twisted....  a spin off of the twister game.  4 people can pose/animate on it at a time, and change their pose as well as adjust themselves on the twisted mat to take up some funny positions or just to align themselves.   In the future it is hoped that this game will actually work with spinning but it will take some time and many many animations.

Madpea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

The 2nd prize at the end: DUMBY avatar

Eolene Uralia: I suppose I am taking away the surprise for you all.  You have all heard of GUMBY?  Well we have a very lovely mesh avatar, named DUMBY, looks much like Gumby, but it is his long lost brother from another mother made by a friend named Heb Dexler for toyland.  Gumby and Dumby could pass for twins.  Too bad that Dumby grew up on the wrong side of town. If I have time to create something in the next week I will add that in with the final prize.

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

Alone these two wonderful prizes are worth participating the hunt. But there are 98 more to come! See the next gifts tomorrow!

Hey guys, only a few days and Sanity Falls is starting!

From today on we interview each day one of the participating vendors and yes, we show the wonderful prizes which are awaiting you :))

Today we talk to Cutea Benelli, Owner of Grim Bros.:

MadPea: Thank you for participating the Sanity Falls hunt. Madpea is looking forward to a great event that all SL will talk about. Tell our readers about your work and your products.

Cutea Benelli: Grim Bros. is a place that will entertain you, even if you don't buy stuff. We are, as i like to say, your source for gowns, gears and giggles.

Here's a more or less complete list of what that includes: Shoes and boots (incredibly detailed heels, too), hats, belts, stockings, kilts, jewelry, artificial spines, masks, goggles, spears, glasses, skins, avatars (circus, freakshow, robots, steampunk machine, unique and crazy as well as pretty), compliment givers, shoulder creatures, carousels, steamboards, hair, monster avatars, non-human avatars (sofas, bunnies, and what not). victorian-inspired steampunk dresses, avantgarde fashion, doll fashion, bone gowns, literature inspired gowns (alice, brothers grim)

tl;dr: come to the grim side. we have cookies (ok that's a lie) and a rollercoaster in our shop (seriously, we do)

MadPea: And what is your prize for the hunters?

Cutea Benelli: Our hunt prize is an impressively practical hat for the modern adventurer who never knows what's up next..it makes you (look) well-prepared in almost any situation as it comes with basic adventure equipment such as scissors, knife, fork, chemicals, syringes, money, a bible as well as canned tomato soup. (two different hat shapes included in the box)

MadPea: Finally, which 2nd prize is waiting for the hunters at the end?

Cutea Benelli: It's a chest attachment called inner graveyard.  It's a bit of a dark heart, so to say.

MadPea: Thank you for the short interview.

13 Days till the Launch of the game that will blow SL away

Let the countdown to Sanity Falls Launch begin! Stay tuned as we're slowly revealing all kinds of goodies to come! :) Meet Alexander Blackwell, the main character that you will become in this game. The avatar and accessories are generously donated by Jaimy Hancroft from Death Row Designs and Alex' hair by Sebastien Aries from Shag.

This is how your story begins:
“I’m waking up with metallic taste of blood tainting my mouth. I look at my clothes and see blood everywhere, but I don’t feel any pain or see any wounds. It probably isn’t my blood. I try to think but realize that I have no memory of the last 24 hours. The last thing I remember is coming to Sanity Falls with my wife. I feel dizzy, someone must have drugged me.

Groggy and confused, I stagger onto my feet and call out for Livea. When silence answers me back, I become aware of my surroundings. I am on the edge of a bridge overlooking the Sanity River. In the puddle of blood beside me lays a phone. It starts ringing..”

Ready for the adventure? Time to start getting snacks in the house already, you don't want to leave your screen, till you solve this mystery. ;)

Show and Tell - New Host Taralyn Gravois

'Show and Tell' is always huge fun and much to laugh for builders and the audience. Here are some examples of the last presentation:

The line up last show was especially brilliant. It startet with Eolene Uralia, who showed the fascinated audience her first invention ever: The Box. Eolene said: “I am a legend in my own mind” She blames Linden to have theft her wonderful box. But she is proud, what all the builders on SL are doing with her boxes. With much laughter Eolene got enthusiastic applause. Eolene reacted very humble: "thank you. I am famous" Madpea can be proud to have Eolene as builder ;)

The next built was a town in a box: "Nope-olize" A scaring Godzilla destroyed the houses with lot of dust. In the Godzilla costume was the builder Poi (Marshalpoi Jinx). He said: "When you done just do the rebuilt and it is as good as new." The audience loved the presentation and asked for repetitions.

Artist and builder Harter Fall was the next in the line. Harter ist known for builds with optical illussions and was several times awarded in SL. Here he presentend a box with a skull inside with seems to stare at everyone and to follow all movements. Poi shouted frightened: "IT WANTS MY SOUL!" Harter explained: "The surface the skull ist projected on is concave. So that it appears to rotate the opposite direction you look at it." Slightly scared but very impressed the audience gave Harter long applause. Alone Eolene insisted that it looks as one of her boxes.

Doesn't this avatar look cute, nice and innocent? If you think DJ Zelda (PowerVR) really is, you might be wrong. Zelda built and scripted a "Super Turkey Puncher". Poor turkeys explode in the screen. The audience loved it besides some, who felt with the animals. Jules Garobie said: "Stop hurting the birdy :(" But Elvira Fenwitch was more interested in the feathers to build new arrows. Arduenn Schwartzman asked for a Meeroo version.

Stupid Dump Display Name (Arduenn Schwartzman) presented a very nice mesh toaster with offers different sorts of sandwich. But the toaster has an extra feature and he needed a volunteer. Paramparamm Papp came and was asked to have seat on the toaster and to be toasted. Soto Hax shouted: "Wow! He turned a hedgehog into a guinea pig." And Param: "IT HURTS!" Arduenn took a seat too and showed that the bum is done, as soon as it starts to smoke.

This was just a a part of the presented works. Sadly the last work, a huge airship build by Angelica Nansen, was that large that it bursted on the flight test the walls of the MadPea Arena. We only hope that the reburbishment works will be finished by today evening, when next 'Show and  Tell' is scheduled.

Winner of the evening was the Turkey Puncher, place two has been shared by the skull and the toaster. All agreed that 'Show and Tell' was lot of fun and much to laugh. Everyone wanted to come back for the next 'Show and Tell' on Sunday. Piedra Lubitsch said: "I will definetely be back next time." You should not miss it too!

New host is Taralyn Gravois. Meet her today! The builder and gallerist enjoys seeing what comes out of your imaginations and sharing it with others.

Builders, make sure to appear early to join the contest board. First come, first serve!

Show and Tell each Sunday at 2 PM SLT!
